What ECE 22.06 approval guarantees on every helmet on sale
All helmets on sale this Black Friday are ECE 22.06 approved. Compared with the previous ECE 22.05 standard, this certification introduces three additional test protocols: resistance to rotational impacts, visor stability under impact conditions and shell abrasion resistance. An ECE 22.06 approved helmet has therefore passed a more demanding set of requirements, whatever its position in the range.
This Black Friday is a chance to get helmets certified to this updated standard at a reduced price, with no compromise on protection.
Made in Italy: what it really means
Nolan has manufactured all of its helmets at its factory in Brembate di Sopra, Lombardy, since 1972. The entire production chain, from shell to interior, is concentrated on a single site. This industrial model ensures quality control at every stage: selection of raw materials, moulding, assembly and final inspection before shipping.
The helmets on sale for Black Friday, from the N60-6 in Lexan polycarbonate to the X-804 RS Ultra Carbon in carbon fibre, all come from this same manufacturing process. No outsourced sub-assemblies, no end-of-line assembly from components made at multiple sites.
N-Com: check compatibility before completing your Black Friday order
Nolan helmets are designed with a dedicated housing for N-Com communication systems, built into the shell from the design stage. No modification is required for installation.
Two N-Com technologies are available: Bluetooth+ for point-to-point communication (phone, GPS, passenger) and Mesh for group communication with up to 8 riders at the same time, with no prior pairing. These two technologies are not interchangeable, and compatibility varies by helmet model. Before completing an order during the Black Friday promotions, checking that your chosen N-Com system is compatible with your helmet saves you from having to reconsider your choice.
The dedicated N-Com communication systems page details compatibility model by model.
When to replace your helmet: use the Black Friday promotions to plan ahead
A helmet’s shell and inner foam age over time, even without any impact. The technical sheets for each Nolan model give the replacement recommendations specific to each helmet.
The Black Friday promotions are an opportunity to plan this replacement by choosing an ECE 22.06 model at a reduced price. It’s also the time to get certain graphics or finishes that may not be carried over to next season.
